12日（土・現地時間）、コロンビアのボゴタはエル・コリセオ・サリトレでBRAVE CF73が開催される。

中東バーレーン王国がベースのBRAVE CFにとって初進出となるコロンビア大会は、現地のラテンFCと共同開催で、BRAVE CF73が4試合、Latin FC18が4試合の計9試合の試合が組まれている。また同地ではBRAVE Pan-American Combat Weekが開催中でIMMAF Pan-American Championshipもファイトウィーク中に行われている。
そんなボゴタ大会のメインはブラッド・カトーナの返上で空位となっているバンタム級王座をホゼ・トーレスとンコシ・ンデベレが争う一戦が組まれている。
両者は今年3月のイスラエル大会で対戦予定だったが、イベント自体がキャンセルとなり、4月にスロヴェニア大会で仕切りなおされることとなった。しかし、同大会での対戦も実現せずに3度目の正直として今週末に南米で実現することに。
IMMAF世界王者からTitan FCでフライ級とバンタム級を制し、UFCにステップアップを果たしたショーティー・トーレス。オクタゴン・デビュー戦で現ONE世界ストロー級世界王者ジャレッド・ブルックスと対戦すると、劣勢のなかでブルックスがスラムの自爆で頭部をキャンバスで強打し、動きを止めるとパウンドアウトした。
続くアレックス・ペレス戦でキャリア初黒星を喫したトーレスは、UFCのフライ級廃止路線でバンタム級転向でなくフリーランスを選択した。そして2019年にBRAVE CFと契約し一戦を挟んで、フライ級王座決定Tに挑んだ。
しかし、準々決勝で対戦したショーン・サンテーラの足関節&柔術に苦戦を強いられ痛み分けに。再戦では体重オーバーとなり、結果としてバンタム級転向を決めた。その後ブレイン・オロドリコール、イッザデニ・アル・デルバニを下し、バンタム級王座決定戦を戦う権利を得たトーレスに対し、ンデベレはプロキャリアの全てをBRAVE CFで過ごし6勝1敗のレコードを持つ南アフリカ人ファイターだ。
デビュー当初はフィジカル重視、そして荒い打撃で勝利を重ねていた。その後もフィジカルの強さは維持しつつ、打撃だけでなく組みを重視したスタイルも導入。打撃もパワフルかつテクニカルという部分で成長を見せている。
リーチでトーレスに勝るンデベレだが、懐に飛び込まれての接近戦では5オンスのMMAグローブでブロッキングを駆使するトーレスが有利だ。ただし、拳の届く距離に立ちすぎるトーレスの戦いは方はやはり両刃の剣だ。毎試合のように自らもパンチを被弾しており、ンデベレは近い距離でヒザ蹴りという強烈な武器を備えている。
組みからテイクダウンという選択をしなくなったトーレスを、ンデベレのヒザが打ち抜く可能性も高い。加えてトーレスが接近戦だけでなくとも、レスリングを融合させた戦い方に回帰していなければ、その近い距離で戦うまでにダメージを蓄積し、ンデベレの大砲の標的になることも大いにあり得るだろう。

9月18日（月・祝）に東京都文京区の後楽園ホールで開催されるDEEP 115 IMPACTで行われるDEEPvsBlack Combat 7×7全面対抗戦の対戦カードが発表された。

今年2月に第一弾が組まれた、DEEPとBlack Combatとの対抗戦。1st ROUNDとなった韓国・スウォン・コンベンションセンターでのBlack Combat05では、ライト級王者の大原樹理、女子ミクロ級及びDEEP JEWELSアトム級チャンピオンの大島沙緒里、フェザー級とメガトン級のタイトルコンテンダーである中村大介と赤沢幸典、そして山本聖悟という本気度100パーセントのメンバーを揃えたDEEP勢だったが、ブラックコンバットに2勝3敗と負け越す結果に終わった。
その後、Black Combatのブラック代表は4月に来日し、RIZINとの対抗戦への意気込みを見せていたが、DEEP佐伯代表が雪辱を果たすべくホーム＝日本で対抗戦の第2弾を意地の主催。韓国勢が東京ドームホテルに宿泊するなど、現地でのホスピタリティに対して、オ・モ・テ・ナ・シで意地を見せている。
そんな今回の対抗戦にはチャンピオンを揃えたBlack Combat勢に対し、現DEEPバンタム級暫定王者の石司晃一、現DEEPウェルター級王者の鈴木槙吾、現DEEPメガトン級暫定王者の酒井リョウを筆頭に、初代Fighting Nexusフライ級王者の駒杵嵩大とRIZIN・DEEPで連勝中の青井人、そこに韓国ROUNDで勝利した大原・大島を加えた、佐伯DEEPはまさに本気度150パーセントといえるメンバーを揃えた。
この対抗戦でMMAPLANETとして注目したいのが、石司晃一×ユ・スヨンと青井人×シン・スンミンの2カードだ。
石司と対戦するスヨンは韓国柔術界史上最年少24歳で黒帯を取得し、MMAでは母国・韓国でZEUS FCフェザー級王座、Black Combatライト級王座、カザフスタンのNEIZA FCフェザー級王座を次々と戴冠。昨年大晦日にBlack Combatでフェザー級を獲得し、ライト級に続いて2階級制覇を達成した。
7月にはバンタム級に階級を下げ、Black Combatバンタム級王座戦に挑むも計量失敗。一本勝ちを収めるも、王座獲得とはならなかった。5本目のベルトこそ手に入れられかったスヨンだが、ライト級からバンタム級という階級で戦い、これだけの実績を残していることは驚異的と言えるだろう。
韓国人MMAファイターといえば、打たれ強さとスタミナ、そして思い切りのよい打撃で試合を組み立てるイメージだが、スヨンのファイトスタイルはそれと違う。細かくジャブとローを散らし、ダブルレッグからテイクダウン、トップキープ・ポジショニングで相手をコントロールしてフィニッシュを狙うというもの。
柔術ベースでサブミッションによる一本勝ちが目立つが、そこにいたるまでにコンパクトなジャブ・ワンツー、そしてカーフキックで対戦相手を削る技術にも長けている。決してエキサイティングで派手な試合にはなりにくいが、よりグローバルなMMAを意識&アジャストを目指しているスタイルだといえるだろう。
ロングリーチを活かしたジャブで距離を制してペースを掴む石司としては、いかにスヨンの接近を止められるか。一発で試合をひっくり返す右フック&ストレートが魅力の石司ではあるが、勝利に近づくためには、その右に頼らない試合運びが求められる。
一方、青井と対戦するスンミンは従来の韓国人MMAファイターのイメージ通りの戦い方をする選手だ。重心を落としたスタンスの広い構えからパンチの強打&ロー・カーフキックのプレッシャーをかけ、最終的に打撃でのKOを目指すスタイルで、昨年12月からBlack Combatに主戦場を移してからは2連続KO勝利中。
今年4月にDouble GFC暫定王者だったパク・チャンスを左フックからのサッカーボールキックで沈め、Black Combatのフェザー級王座に就いた。
ガードを高く構えて細かい打撃から試合を組み立てていく青井とは、スタンドでの距離・間合いも似ており、必然的にスタンドの時間が長い展開が予想される。
ただしスンミンがほぼスタンドの攻防に終始するのに対し、青井には昨年11月のRIZIN LANDMARK04での鈴木博昭戦のように、スタンドの攻防で後手に回ってもテイクダウン&グラウンドゲームという選択肢がある。スンミンのテイクダウンディフェンス能力が勝敗の鍵を握る一戦になりそうだ。
